About the Scholarship

John Deere is a proud sponsor of the National Black MBA Association®. John Deere will award scholarships to current NBMBAA graduate student members. John Deere will award two (2) NBMBAA® student members, preferably those who reside in or attend school in the Mid-Western and Southern regions of the United States and are concentrating in, or have previous experience in, the following areas:

Supply Chain Management

Data & Analytics

Marketing

Finance & Accounting

Operations & Manufacturing

Information Technology

Engineering

Type

Graduate

Amount

Each award is worth $3500. There are two (2) awards available.

Criteria

In order to be considered for the John Deere Scholarship, you must first complete the NBMBAA® scholarship application. Only applicants that are being considered will receive follow up from the scholarship committee.

  • Be a financially active member of the National Black MBA Association®.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident.
  • Be a graduate student enrolled full-time in an accredited master’s degree program at the time of award.
  • Provide 100-150 word essay stating how receiving the John Deere Scholarship will help you achieve your goals.
  • Provide a 1-2 minute video, preferably using MP4, of personal statement on how this will benefit you.
  • Submit a current resume.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater. (Demonstrate academic excellence).
  • As much as possible apply for job position(s) in advance.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership potential.
  • Be actively involved in your local communities through service to others.

All scholarship applicants must have an NBMBAA Membership that is in active financial status. Applicants that are not current members of the NBMBAA will be denied. We invite you to join the association by clicking HERE.
