The National Black MBA Association – South Florida Chapter, founded in December 1987 by five MBA professionals from Ryder System and Burger King, has flourished into a dynamic network of over 200 members from Miami‑Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Grounded in a mission of education & career exploration, leadership & professional development, and economic prosperity, the chapter empowers Black professionals through high-impact programming and mentorship.
Signature programs include its robust Leaders of Tomorrow® (LOT®) initiative, which since 1991 has mentored thousands of youth in five core pillars—Leadership, Financial Literacy, College & Career Prep, and Life Skills. The chapter also awards scholarships such as the Jacki Tuckfield Scholarship, offering $1,000–$2,000 to South Florida African‑American graduate students pursuing business degrees.
Known for hosting a range of professional workshops—“Lunch & Learns,” mixers, career panels, and year-end celebrations—the chapter builds intellectual and economic wealth through strategic partnerships and community outreach. To date, NBMBAA South Florida has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships and helped propel local Leaders of Tomorrow to success in national competitions like the NBMBAA Case Competition.
